Hi, Viky.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely agree with you that celebrities are ‘made’ famous by media. It is also true, that the ordinary people often tend to compare themselves with celebrities, they are interested in what they do, how they dress and live, what they eat and drink, with whom they are recently having an affair with, what they children look like and so on. And since there is a ‘celebrity demand’, there is also a ‘celebrity supply’. It is not surprising that tabloids such as ‘Blesk’ or ‘Aha’ are the most frequently sold newspapers in the Czech Republic. Curiosity is surely a natural part of a human nature, however some people seem to be more than curious, they seem to be quite obsessed with their ‘idols’. And this obsession, in my opinion, is a result of a significant lack of valuable and respected role models within the families and friends.
